With Stocky shutting down on August 31, 2026, thousands of Shopify merchants are evaluating their options. Two apps that keep coming up in the conversation are LogiStock and Stockful. Both are new entrants built specifically for the post-Stocky world, but they solve different problems. This is a side-by-side breakdown based on publicly available information as of March 2026 — what each does, what it costs, and where each one falls short.

What Stockful does well

Stockful identified a real gap: when Stocky goes away, merchants lose access to inventory analytics and reporting they’ve relied on for years. Stockful focuses squarely on filling that hole, and it does a few things well.

Daily inventory snapshots. Stockful captures your inventory state every day, giving you a historical record to track trends over time. This is something Shopify’s native tools don’t offer, and it’s genuinely useful for understanding patterns.

12 report types. From sell-through rates to dead stock identification, Stockful covers the reporting side comprehensively. If you ran Stocky primarily for its analytics, this is a direct replacement.

Slack integration. Alerts go straight to your team’s Slack channels. For stores where multiple people manage inventory, this is a practical touch that reduces the chance of someone missing a critical stock alert.

Clean focus. Stockful doesn’t try to be everything. It’s an analytics and reporting tool, and it stays in its lane. There’s value in that clarity.

Where Stockful falls short

The narrow focus that makes Stockful good at reporting also creates gaps.

No purchase orders. This is the biggest one. If you used Stocky to create, send, and receive POs, Stockful doesn’t replace that workflow. You’d need a second app for PO management, which means more cost and more context-switching.

No AI features. There’s no natural language assistant or AI-powered analysis. You get reports, but you can’t ask questions in plain English like “Which products will stock out this month?” and get an answer.

Forecasting locked to higher tiers. Demand forecasting — arguably the most valuable feature for preventing stockouts — isn’t available on Stockful’s Starter plan at $39/mo. You need to move up to Growth ($79/mo) or Pro ($149/mo) to access it.

Higher pricing at every tier. Stockful starts at $39/mo with no free option. For a small store managing 30-50 SKUs, that’s a meaningful monthly expense for what amounts to reporting functionality.

Still in early access. As of March 2026, Stockful is operating on a waitlist model and isn’t fully available on the Shopify App Store. That’s not necessarily a problem — every app starts somewhere — but it means fewer reviews, less community feedback, and more uncertainty about stability.

What LogiStock does differently

LogiStock takes the opposite approach: instead of specializing in one piece of the inventory puzzle, it aims to replace the full Stocky workflow — purchase orders, forecasting, reordering, and analytics — in a single tool.

Full PO workflow. Create purchase orders, send them to suppliers, track receiving, and manage supplier relationships. This is the piece most merchants miss most when Stocky disappears, and LogiStock handles it end to end.

DDMRP dynamic safety buffers. Rather than using static reorder points that go stale, LogiStock uses Demand Driven Material Requirements Planning to calculate dynamic safety stock levels. Each SKU gets a red, yellow, or green status based on its current buffer position. No spreadsheets required.

AI natural language assistant. Ask questions in plain English: “Draft a PO for my top supplier” or “Which SKUs have been declining for 3 months?” The assistant queries your data and gives you actionable answers.

Exception-based management. Instead of reviewing every SKU manually, LogiStock surfaces only the products that need attention — the ones trending toward stockout, the ones with unusual demand patterns, the ones sitting dead. You deal with exceptions, not spreadsheets.

Free tier with real functionality. LogiStock’s free plan supports 50 SKUs with basic forecasting and 1 supplier. It’s not a 14-day trial that expires. It’s a permanent free tier designed for small stores that need the basics without a monthly bill.

Who should choose what

Choose Stockful if:

  • Your primary need is inventory analytics and reporting — sell-through rates, dead stock reports, historical snapshots
  • Slack integration for team alerts is important to your workflow
  • You already have a separate solution for purchase orders and don’t need PO management
  • You’re comfortable with $39-$149/mo for a focused reporting tool

Choose LogiStock if:

  • You need to replace the full Stocky workflow: purchase orders, forecasting, and reordering in one place
  • You want to start for free and only pay when you outgrow the free tier
  • AI-powered inventory queries and exception-based management appeal to you
  • You’re migrating from Stocky and PO management is a critical part of what you’re replacing
  • Budget matters — LogiStock’s Pro plan at $49/mo costs less than Stockful’s entry-level Starter at $39/mo, while offering a broader feature set

An honest note. These apps don’t compete head-to-head as much as it might seem. Stockful is a reporting tool. LogiStock is an operational tool. If you need both deep analytics and full PO management, you could theoretically run both — though at that point, LogiStock’s built-in reporting may be sufficient on its own.

The bottom line

The post-Stocky market is still shaking out. Both LogiStock and Stockful are new, and both are evolving. Stockful is a solid pick if reporting is your primary concern. LogiStock is the stronger choice if you need the full operational stack — POs, forecasting, AI, and reordering — without paying $39/mo before you can even get started.
